Starting from 5/8" wrought iron bar and an old farriers rasp, blacksmith Jennifer Petrila hand forges a 3/4" woodworking chisel. The project was filmed in December 2019 in Bolton, MA at Bob Roemer's blacksmith and wood shop at the Moses Wilder Homestead. This is the first in a series of videos produced by the Early American Industries Association (EAIA), which is an 85+ year old non profit organization. EAIA's motto is "Celebrating Trades, Crafts, and Tools in American History and Their Impact on Our Lives".

Blacksmith Jennifer Petrila forges wrought iron dividers at the Moses Wilder blacksmith shop in Bolton, Mass. Starting with an illustration from a pattern book, Jennifer crafts the dividers from wrought iron stock and an old rasp to create a traditional dual wing, double joint divider.
